What Happens in Women's Public Restrooms Stays There

Women in Bathroom

I have been back home all week with family. I was sitting, I won't tell you where I was sitting, but I believe you will get the general idea, when this Hub came to mind. In fact, I was discussing it with me daughter-in-law who was with me, while my son waited for us. I had been noticing this trend all week with the whole family.

Men go the the restroom alone, and women go together. If men do go together they do not wait on each other, they exit one at a time when finished with their business. Women on the other hand wait on the other to finish their business and usually discuss the days topics.

This got me to pondering, why is this so? Why do women go together, why do they wait on each other, and why do they find this is the time to talk? When I am home I don't take anyone to the bathroom with me, maybe with my phone I sit and catch up in Facebook, or text a friend. After all, no one knows your sitting on the john if your only texting. I usually don't hold a full conversation with anyone through the door. I just do what I got to do and go about my day.

Are women afraid of public restrooms? I can see that if the restroom was down a dark alley, and it was the middle of the night, we might want to go in packs. I seriously doubt that the toilet at our favorite restaurant is going to gang up and attack us. I think the most the toilet might do is overflow when we let too much go. Yeah, there may be the problem of no toilet paper but, that is why your new found friend next door is for. Just holler over and say " This stupid place left their rolls go empty, can you spare me a couple of sheets?" If your really smart you will check before you squat.

Men just get the job done, walk out and wait and wait on the women. They always wonder what took us so long. Well men have it easy, they don't even have to sit down or worry about toilet paper most of the time. It is like drive-by restroom using. They get looked at funny if they look at each other so they are eyes forward and no talking. If you ever compare the two restrooms, the women's have all the fancies, we have a couch, hairspray, hand lotion, and other beauty supplies. The men are lucky to get soap. Wonder how many really use it?

Well that is what I sat and pondered this week, I really didn't come up with an answer. I know that we women will continue to go in packs and men will continue to go alone. I just hope the next time I have to go by myself that the toilet monster is at bay and does not attack me and the toilet paper is full.

The reason we go together is so we have ready access to the toilet paper in the next stall. We also go to talk.

It is a nice place to chat without those you are with hearing you.

Don't we go most places in groups? Out to lunch, movies, shopping, take kids to park with friends and theirs, exercise class, walks, just get together somewhere, put our heads together to think out a problem.

Men do things alone. Go to work, off fishing, stop for a drink, invent, research. When they get together it may be to build, a house, barn, city, nation. They think alone, coming to their own conclusions, They even, often, go off to war alone, getting together with others at the battlefield.

We are communal. They are naturally more solitary.
