It's Someone's Happy Birthday

You entered my life 4 years ago, I remember the day like it was yesterday, My oldest son was working and we had plans to go to the movies and dinner. He wanted to take you with us, but did not have time to pick you up, so he sent us to get you. I was a bit nervous at first, yes me nervous, I didn't know what you would think of us or what to say to you.

He gave us the direction to you home. He said remember two things about going out to your home, watch the railroad tracks and she lives way out in the country. Okay, I can handle those directions. So we set off to pick you up. We only have one road to go down with one turn then we are at your house. We are driving, then suddenly the tracks, slow down, oh ----, we hit them too hard, bump, thud. Well we forgot to watch the tracks. We keep driving down our one road, we keep driving, and driving, and driving, finally we are at our turn. He said that you are in the trailer on the left okay, there are a couple of trailers on the left. We drive past your house, then I see you exiting your house. Thank goodness, we have found you,

The ride back into town is very quiet, you sit in the backseat hardly saying a word, At dinner you eat like a bird and still hardly talk. My mind is racing, we are a family of talkers. I'm thinking she must think we are crazy or she totally hates us. I really don't mind that she hates me just as long as she makes my son happy. He seems to really like this girl, is she going to be the one. She seems to be nice from the few words that have been spoken.

Well it turns out that she is the one, they get married April 25, 2009, the day before my husband rolls out for the fouth deployment. It was a simple yet beautiful ceremony and they got married on that day so my husband could be there. I am grateful for that.

Over the years that girl that would not speak in the backseat has grown into a wife and mother. She has grown from a daughter-in-law to a daughter. She has been there for me during some of the roughest times in my life. She has become an awesome mother. My son had picked a wife that is right out of brides magazine.

She may not know how much she means to me, but i want her to know on her birthday, that I think she is perfect. I have enjoyed our last 4 years together. The shopping trips, the trying on of goofy clothes, the just sitting on the back porch and talking all mean so much to me. I would give her the world if I could cause I would give that to any of my children. I love her as if she was one of mine, but I know that I must share her with her mama, I have appreciated everything that she has done for me when I am down.

Everyone needs a daughter-in-law like the one I have. Happy Birthday and I love you!!!
